Year-long one-of-a-kind virtual pageant ends with mixed emotions
It was an emotion-filled moment as Ferdilyn Boiser Sarmiento of Macau reacted to host Jared Philippe as he was announcing the name of the first runner-up. Ferdilyn realized then that it was her who just won the title of Tinig Pinoy’s Calendar Girl 2021. She was literally sobbing. It took her a while to calm herself to deliver her acceptance speech. That was an emotional scene culminating the three-hour live stream.

The livestream was wonderfully hosted by Ms. Regina Sosing in Ottawa and Jared Philippe of New Jersey. The livestream was viewed by thousands with a huge number of engagements as viewers stayed on and kept sending messages and comments during the show. Technical production was handled by the team of Gerry Orcia and Kuya Dan of Tinig Pinoy.
Tinig Pinoy’s Admins were likewise behind the scene coordinating and directing the backstage actions with the five grand finalists.
The judges during Tinig Pinoy’s Calendar Girl 2021 did a yeoman’s job considering the high quality of the Finalists. It was a closely fought but friendly competition. Thanks to the Judges, namely: Engr. Addie Bantug of New Post Constructors, Ms Cynthia Mariano of Best Way Immigration Services, TESDA Director General & Congressman John Bertiz III, Ms. Pazzie Elep of Texas and Singer/Producer/Radio Host Tala Zaldivar, a beauty queen herself.
The three-hour livestream proved to be a successful event both in terms of excellent judging and entertainment value. Song numbers were rendered by six Indie Artists, namely: Carmela Betonio whose song “Text You Very Much” that elicited raving comments from the judges; Emping who sang “Pinagtagpo”; eLIZ singing “Biyaya Ka Sa Aking Buhay”;Nants del Rosario and his “Tuwing Pasko”, Ronilo Victoriano serenading the ladies with his cover of “Each Day” and lastly Jing Leonardo with an original composition. There were three more numbers from The Raketeros Angels of Japan but were not played due to the tight schedule and a few technical glitz.
The show had a very high engagement of over two thousand from the viewers. Tinig Pinoy thanks and congratulates the judges time and wisdom as arbiters of the competition.
And to the over twenty-eight thousand general membership and the highly supportive public, Tinig Pinoy sends it love and appreciation.
As the livestreaming was about to end, one of the judges, Mr. Addie Bantug left a prophetic statement in saying: “sana maulit muli”. Translation?
