Yes, we are talking about the Tinig Pinoy’s Calendar Girl 2021 Grand Finals.
The competition is extremely close as TEN BEAUTIFUL WOMEN are vying for the Top Five spots who will proceed to the semi-finals. The Grand Prize is PhP75,000.00 cash.
All members of Tinig Pinoy Radio’s private group in good standing are qualified to vote. This vote represents 50% of the total score of the candidates. The other 50% is from the Talent Portion and the Interview with the selected Judges.
As the competition is heated and our beloved admins are checking the validity of every single vote, allow us to once again introduce to you these extraordinary women! Their stories are very inspiring! They are determined, hard-working, family-oriented, strong and beautiful human beings. The world is a better place because they are here:
CANDIDATE NO. 1 – MS. JANUARY
NAME: ANGIE FE IGUIRON
FROM: BURUANGA, AKLAN
CURRENTLY: STUDENT, AKLAN STATE UNIVERSITY
Biography: Self-described as a simple woman who is full of ambitions and dreams for her family, friends and for herself, Angie Fe Iguiron is a 4th-year college student studying at the Aklan State University (Main Campus). She is taking up a Bachelor of Science in Office Administration. Armed with a strong personality and a soft heart, she cares about people who are in need and for the elderly.
She is also an online seller and a practical person who dreams of travelling and exploring the world. Not only does she dream for herself but wants those around her to also dream of a bright future which can be achieved by working hard, having patience and through prayer.
She feels the privilege of joining this contest, not for fame or the prize, but because it will be a great platform for her to open other doors of opportunities. As one of the contestants of this contest, she is determined to work hard and do her best to be triumphant with hard work and with the help of the people around her and the guidance from above.

BIOGRAPHY: Aezel Gamiao is a 19-year old student from the Philippines. She is talented in spoken-word poetry. Aezel is a lady with high ambitions in life, most especially for her family. Outside looks don’t matter to her but what only matters is the inner beauty and goodwill because she believes that you can not bring your beautiful face when you die but only your soul. She’s the kind of person who always looks at the brighter side of life, despite all the challenges, because she has confidence in herself that all her dreams will come true. She’s a God Servant so she has the so-called “pusong mamon” and does everything with love.
She always wanted to help as much as she could because she had this belief that “you will need them in the most unexpected ways”. She takes every opportunity to show kindness to all the people she encounters for the reason that, as a youth, she wants to serve as a motivation to others that poverty is not the hindrance to success and that with God nothing is impossible.
She would like to be the MISS CALENDAR because she would like to make her parents proud in this simple way and to be the pride of her beloved community. She wants to be an inspiration to those girls who have low self-esteem that it’s not about beauty instead it’s about the determination to win. Therefore, she is proudly representing her community and she believes that if it’s God’s will, it will happen.

NAME: CHERRY MAE TESORA LECANIEL VICTORIA
FROM: BACOLOD CITY, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL
CURRENTLY IN: HONGKONG
BIOGRAPHY: Si Cherry Mae Tesora Lecaniel Victoria ay ipinanganak noong Octobre 17, 1979, pangatlong sa apat na magkakapatid. Noong 12 na taong gulang pa lamang siya ay nagsimula nang magtrabaho para lang makatulong sa kanyang mga magulang. Hindi na sya nakatungtong ng kolehiyo dahil kulang sa suportang pinansyal noon at di kaya ng kanyang ama.
Tumuntong sa abroad si Cherry Mae nong 2012 simula nang maghiwalay sila ng kanyang asawa. Noong pangalawang beses na umibig muli, bigo pa rin sa dulo. Nagkaanak si Cherry Mae ng lalaki at mag-isang itinaguyod ito. May tatlong babaeng anak si Cherry Mae sa una niyang asawa. Patuloy na tumatayo sa sariling paa si Cherry Mae kahit sa gitna ng mga kabiguan, alang-alang sa kanyang mga anak, magulang, at mga kapatid. Sya ay mapagmahal at matulungin na kapatid at handang sagupain ano mang unos ng buhay matupad lamang ang kanyang pangarap sa buhay.
Kaya nyang ipamalas ang kanyang talento sa pamamagitan ng pagsayaw. Kasalukuyan si Cherry Mae ay nasa Hongkong at nakikipagsapalaran para sa kanyang mga anak, magulang at pangarap sa buhay. Sumali sa Calendar Girl upang mapatunayan na di lang siya pang kusina at pagiging katulong, kundi maipamalas at maibahagi ang natatago nyang talent.
CANDIDATE NO.4 – MS. APRIL
NAME: DAISY JOY CARDOZA
FROM: GARDEN ISLAND CITY OF SAMAL
CURRENTLY IN: SINGAPORE
BIOGRAPHY: Daisy Joy Cardoza is a mother of three boys and a beautiful wife of her husband. She is originally from Mlang North Cotabato but moved with her family to Samal Island. Being hailed as a winner of Tinig Pinoy Radio Calendar Girl Miss April is a source of pride for Daisy Joy as it has opened a lot of opportunities. Through Tinig Pinoy Radio, Daisy Joy was able to showcase her talent, including during the celebration of the Philippine Independence Day. She has gained friends and is able to meet people from across the globe.
Daisy Joy died once. She underwent a major operation in Singapore for her appendicitis and stayed in the ICU for five days. Within this period, she began asking herself about the purpose of her life and the reason why she was given a second chance in life. As she became better, she began to see life in a different light. “Life is so short, we need to do the best out of it, choose a life you will never regret living” so she lived by her name Joy. She became joyful. She laughed and made silly videos to make everyone laugh. She became a better listener and became someone who loves to make people smile. She began to love more knowing that the moment we are gone in this world, we can’t give it anymore.
Joy became her advocacy in life. She wanted to make not only the people around her smile but those that can be reached by her charitable programs with the help of her friends who were willing to help. There’s a saying that she lives by: “mabigat kung ikaw lang mag isa ang kakarga, ang gaan kapag sama-sama” at “gaano man kaliit na tulong, kapag pinagsama, lalaki.”
CANDIDATE NO.5 – MS. MAY
NAME: CHINLEY H. RONGDUEN
FROM: MAGSAYSAY, DAVAO DEL SUR
CURRENTLY: STUDENT
BIOGRAPHY: Chinley H. Rongduen is a 20-year-old student from Lower Bala Magsaysay Davao del Sur, a place where farming is the source of livelihood. She is currently in her third year in College taking a Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting. Chinley previously joined as Ms. April and was able to get second place. However, with determination and persistence, she once again tried to become Ms. May and won. May is a significant month for her as it is the birth month of her father, and May is also when we celebrate Mother’s Day. These two reasons made her join again because she wanted to dedicate herself to the two special people who brought her here on earth – her parents. They are her motivation and inspiration as she’s walking through her life’s journey. They are the reasons why she wants to finish her studies so that she will be able to give all their needs and wants even though she knows that no material thing that she can possibly give to pay back all their sacrifices in raising her. She considers her parents as her lucky charm. She is grateful to Tinig Pinoy for this great opportunity, as they are not just helping people to showcase their talents and knowledge, but also they help connect people all over the world.
CANDIDATE NO.6 – MS. JULY
NAME: ANALYN P. ESCABARTE
FROM: KITCHARAO, AGUSAN DEL NORTE
CURRENTLY IN: PHILIPPINES
BIOGRAPHY: Analyn P. Escabarte is 41 years old and is a single mother of one. She is very fond of singing and has been making a living off of it before the pandemic in China. Prior to the pandemic, she worked hard to make a living miles away from her daughter just to give her a better life. However, because of the pandemic, her work had stopped. Not to be deterred by the pandemic, she realized that she has been granted the opportunity to spend time with her child to engage herself in her life. She is now able to apply her responsibility as a woman and a mother, which is to work for her child’s growth and education. Being with her daughter teaches her many things every day.
In addition, she doesn’t believe in miracles, she believes that only hard work and having good character is key to success. With that, she believes that anyone will be capable of achieving what they have always dreamed of.
Lastly, her primary reason for joining this contest is to become a role model showcasing her qualities as a woman and a mother.
CANDIDATE NO.7 MS. AUGUST
NAME: FERDILYN SARMIENTO
FROM: TAGUM CITY, DAVAO DEL NORTE
CURRENTLY IN: MACAU
BIOGRAPHY: Ferdilyn Sarmiento is from Tagum City, Davao Del Norte, Philippines, but currently working in Macau as an OFW. She is 29 years old and has one daughter. She has an undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management. She is joining this competition to explore her capability, not only to showcase her talents, but also to encourage and inspire people, despite her shyness.
She loves singing, dancing, acting and writing poems. When she was younger, she enjoyed listening to the radio and hearing the DJs and was inspired by their voices. She also enjoys helping charities and helping those who are less fortunate. Currently, she has also done modelling work for a cause in Macau.
Furthermore, she is joining this competition to help her father who needs to have a CT Scan and in maintaining his medications. While it is not easy to be the breadwinner of the family, often feeling tired, she presses on, wipes her tears and continues to work knowing her family needs her.
CANDIDATE NO.8 – MS. SEPTEMBER
NAME: RUBILYN RAMADA RUBIA
FROM: TAGUM CITY, DAVAO DEL NORTE
CURRENTLY IN: THE PHILIPPINES
BIOGRAPHY: Rubilyn Ramada Rubia is a 39-year-old from Cuambogan, Tagum City. Previously a single mom before getting married, Rubilyn has a beautiful 15-year old daughter. Her parents took care of her daughter while she travelled and worked abroad as an OFW and as a band vocalist. Along with her sister and her brother-in-law, she is part of a 3-person band called Brightside Trio Sequencer, travelling for 5 years across Asia, and the UAE is the last country where they worked before the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
Singing is her passion, and although the pandemic is still going on it can never stop her passion to sing. The reason why she joined this contest is to showcase her talent to everyone and challenge herself to pursue her passion for singing. Even if she is going to win or lose, she is already content that she was able to perform through Tinig Pinoy Radio.
CANDIDATE NO.9 – MS. OCTOBER
NAME: GLENDA GALARPE CAPIN
FROM: LOURDES ALUBIJID, MISAMIS ORIENTAL
CURRENTLY IN: TAIWAN
BIOGRAPHY: Glenda Galarpe Capin is 34 years of age and currently working as a caregiver in Taiwan. She is a mother of three children and loves singing, dancing, and performing rap songs. She loves joining contests such as online singing competitions and modelling as a source of extra income. She was pursuing AB Mass Communication in college, but had to stop her studies because it was tough being a self-supporting student. She started to work abroad as a domestic helper when she was just 26 years old. The first time she went abroad was in Saudi Arabia as a domestic helper for about three years. Now working in Taiwan, she once again opened her dream that she has long sought in life – to have her own home and be established in life. She wants to be a good example to everyone, especially to her co-OFW workers, that even if they are far away from their family it is not a reason to hide their talents. This is one of the biggest reasons why she joined the Calendar Girl contest – to share, encourage everyone to keep going, that even if they have a child, even if they are a single mother like her, they are still able to achieve the dream they started. She joined this contest to continue and fulfill her dreams as a confident and completely beautiful woman, and to prove herself and to encourage others, not only in her external appearance but in being true to oneself. Finally, she wants to raise the dignity of her co-OFWs.
CANDIDATE NO.10 – MS. NOVEMBER
NAME: NELLY CACAYAN ANGELES
FROM: THE PROVINCE OF ISABELA
CURRENTLY IN: HONGKONG
BIOGRAPHY: Si Nelly Cacayan Angeles, ipinanganak noong Agosto 19, 1978, nakatira sa Isabela. Nakapag aral ng kolehiyo pero dahil sa hirap ng buhay ay hindi nakapagtapos. Siya ay nagkatulong sa kanyang tiyuhin sa Ilagan City, Isabela hanggang sa nakapag isip na mag asawa. Ngunit sa hirap na dinanas nya sa kanyang asawa, napagtanto nya na mas maganda na lang iwanan ang asawa at mag abroad sa Saudi Arabia. Kahit na maliit ang sahod nya pinagkakasya ng nanay nya dahil apat na mga bata ang kanyang inaalagaan lalo pa’t ang tatay nya ay may lung cancer, kaya sya ay nag-abroad para maiahon sa kahirapan ang kanyang pamilya. Kahit nahihirapang mawalay o mapalayo sa mga mahal sa buhay kinaya at tiniis ni Nelly ang buhay bilang isang OFW. Sa di inaasahang pangyayari o trahedya sa buhay nya ay namatay ang tatay nya, at gusto nya man umuwi pero di sya pinayagan ng kanyang mga amo lalo baguhan lang sya sa kanila hanggang sa natapos na ang kontrata nya at nag-renew ng kontrata dahil gusto nyang makaipon at para matustusan ang pangangailangan ng pamilya nya.
Apat na mga bata ang inaalagaan ng nanay nya. Hindi nagtagal nagkasakit din ang nanay nya ng myoma cancer, kaya nagpaalam sya sa mga amo para makauwi. Pumanaw ang kanyang ina sa kanyang dibdib. Nag abroad ulit si Nelly papuntang Hong Kong at nangarap na makabili ng sariling bahay ngunit nalaman nyang minamaltrato ang kanyang mga anak. Nalaman din nya na pinatay ang kanyang panganay na kapatid. Bilang OFW mahirap ang tinatahak ni Nelly lalo pa’t naging ulilang lubos, biyuda, namatayan ng kapatid, at ang isa pa nyang kapatid ay nagka-cancer. Ngunit patuloy na lumalaban si Nelly sa hamon ng buhay, sumasali sa lahat ng paligsahan, event challenges, at mapadrama man sa smule. Manalo o matalo naipakita nya ang kanyang talento. Proud na ofw na kahit sa ganitong paraan nakakagawa sya ng ikakasaya ng sarili nya at para proud ang kanyang pamilya. Natutuwa siyang naibabahagi ang kanyang talento sa pagkanta, pagsayaw at sa drama. Ito ay para sa kanyang pamilya at sa kagaya nyang OFW. Mensahe ni Nelly: huwag mahiya na ilabas o ipakita ang iyong talento, dahil ito ay ginagawa sa malinis na paraan. Siya ay nagpapa-alala sa mga OFW na tulad nya na mag-focus sa pamilya at huwag tularan ang mga nangyayari sa iba na ang bagsak ay sa “ Tulfo.”
WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT?
The voting for the semi-finalists will start on December 12 midnight and end at midnight of December 15th (Manila Time). The votes will be carefully tabulated and will account for 50% of the total scores of each semi-finalist.
The final LIVE interview scores will constitute 50% of the total score of the winner. The voting of Likes/Hearts shall be announced before the finals LIVE interview.
The Grand Finals will be held on December 18, 2021, from 9PM Manila Time. Each semi-finalist will be asked two questions by the judge each contestant chooses during the event. A selected panel of five (5) impartial judges will conduct and score the LIVE session.
Note: In the unlikely event of a tied score, each protagonist will be asked by the panel of judges a question of similar nature and whoever gets the higher score becomes Tinig Pinoy Calendar Girl 2021.
The contestant getting the highest combined scores of the online voting by the general membership and the result of the final interview gets to win the title of Tinig Pinoy’s Calendar Girl 2021 and the prize of PHP 75,000. The same scoring parameters will apply for the First and Second, Third and Fourth runner-ups. Stay Tune!
