Tinig Pinoy was invited to a reception in honour of International Women’s Day organized by Famous 5 Ottawa, and the All-Party Parliamentary Women’s Caucus. It was filled with 600 people at John MacDonald Building, 144 Wellington St. in Ottawa, Canada.

The Honourable Maryam Monsef, Minister of Status of Women welcomed everyone with a very inspirational speech on women’s contribution to the society.

Minister Maryam Monsef is of Afghan Heritage. She was elected to represent the riding of Peterborough—Kawartha as a Liberal member of the House of Commons of Canada.
