After weeks of excited anticipation of Tinig Pinoy Got Talent Season III unfolding, the event finally happened on August 19 at Andrew Haydon Park`s Band Shell. The stage was beautifully designed by DJ Michelle Alfeche with the event`s logo magnified hundred folds. Technical production was efficiently handled by Eddie Villarta, Gerry Orcia and Cesar Calderon.

Despite a shaky forecast of rain the whole day, and an actually overcast sky at the onset, TPGT3 managed to draw a sizeable crowd who cheered for their favourite performers. Prior to the contest proper, the live band Velvet Rose rendered beautiful numbers for almost an hour that helped draw the crowd towards the Band Shell. The talent search started only after the masterful performance of TPGT Season 2 champion Ramel Bautista who wowed the crowd with his singing and slap guitar technique. The show was hosted by the jolly tandem of Rhea Rivilla and Jhune Leonardo who piloted the show within the scheduled time armed with their wit and eloquence. The three hour show featured ten youthful talents who gave rousing performances to the delight of the crowd.

The first round ended with four contestants voted in to move to the final round by the four well-experienced judges: Addie Bantug, Fil Caballes, Mic Lomocso and Vanessa Gomez. After the second and final round of much more confident performances likely buoyed by their earlier success, the top prizes went to the following talents:

Champion : Marie Abrematea

Second Place: Chloe Tutor

Third Place: Alea and Arnaldo

Other than the title, the champion won $500.00. Second prize was $300.00 while $200.00 was awarded to the Third placer. The fourth placer, a group of young ladies who performed a K-pop number complete with song and dance, received a package consisting of various items as consolation prize. The group was composed of the following:  Joanelle Barbon, Jessica Barbon, Richelle Camacho, Elisha Barias.

As promoted and adding entertainment value to the show was the performance of one of the Philippines` music industry icons: Heber Bartolome. On stage with Heber was son Kris who played the bass. After treating the crowd to three of his own popular compositions, the guest performer gamely posed with many in the audience for pictures.

Almost an hour after the show ended, a significant number of the audience still lingered to enjoy the park where earlier in the day sumptuous lunch was shared to the many picnic goers. The event proved successful both in terms of quality entertainment and community participation. This is owed to the many hardworking volunteers who were efficiently coordinated by the event`s overall chairman: Regina Sosing. Regina is a regular Tinig Pinoy Radio host. She is also Tinig Pinoy Radio`s Programs Director.
